SmartTech MS, East Mississippi Community College, and The Mission: Partners in Responsive Solutions to Workforce, Innovation, and Technical Challenges

SmartTech MS is excited to partner with regional stakeholders, The Mission and East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), in a short-term Commercial/Residential Electrical and Industrial Motor controls program that could lead participants in one of several future workforce directions. EMCC instructor Cecil Pittman will deliver the training and EMCC second-semester Construction Engineering Technology students have built the framework that will be used for the electrical training. SmartTech MS provided both hand tools and an Amatrol electrical trainer system.

In working toward the goal of accelerating advanced manufacturing in Mississippi, SmartTech MS is “funding pilot projects to implement scalable and responsive solutions to workforce, innovation, and technical challenges,” said Dr. Julie Jordan, MSU Vice-President of Research and Economic Development. SmartTech MS is particularly interested in finding new pathways to promising careers in advanced manufacturing or related careers.
